The two windows, separately
Most confusion about this event comes from treating the deadline as a single date. You are given 2 separate periods of shop access. The first belongs to the current season and has a deadline attached. The second belongs to next year and, as of this update, has no dates at all.
2026 window
Cutoff unverified- Activation opens
- November 1, 2026
- Activation cutoff (exact)
- [Pending verification]
- Window length
- 14 days from activation
- Counts down to
- [Pending verification]
The 15 and 16 December reports are the same instant seen from different timezones, so this is one cutoff field rather than two dates. It stays pending until an Epic page states the hour.
2027 window
Dates not published- Year
- 2027
- Activation opens
- [Pending verification]
- Activation closes
- [Pending verification]
- Window length
- 14 days (reported)
Only the year has been reported. Anything more specific on this page would be invented.
| Window | Opens | Closes (exact cutoff) | Length | Status | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 free-shop window | November 1, 2026 | [Pending verification] | 14 days | Announced | ign.comIGN guide, 2 Nov 2026 |
| 2027 free-shop window | 2027 | [Pending verification] | 14 days | Announced | ign.comIGN guide, 2 Nov 2026 |
The same cutoff, in your clock
One instant, four clocks. When the exact hour is confirmed this table fills itself from the single timestamp above — no second date is invented for any region.
| Zone | Last moment to activate |
|---|---|
| ET (US East) | [Pending verification] |
| UTC | [Pending verification] |
| CET (Europe) | [Pending verification] |
| CDMX (Mexico) | [Pending verification] |
The two December dates that circulate online are not rival claims. They are the same cutoff read in different timezones, which is exactly why this page shows one pending field instead of two columns that look equally trustworthy.
Countdown
The counter next to the title is rendered as plain text at build time, so it still shows a number with JavaScript switched off. If JavaScript is available it refreshes to the current date.
There is no countdown on this page at the moment, and that is deliberate. The exact activation cutoff is [Pending verification], so a day counter would be counting down to a date nobody has confirmed. The field above and the clock table fill in together as soon as the hour is published.
Season timeline
The season itself is documented far better than the token is. Epic published the Captain's Day dates and the shop release schedule in the Treasure Hunters announcement, which is why those rows carry an official source while the token deadline does not.
| Date | Milestone | Status | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| November 1, 2026 | Treasure Hunters season starts | Confirmed | fortnite.comEpic Games, 30 Oct 2026 |
| November 1, 2026 | First Captain's Day, 09:00 ET | Confirmed | fortnite.comEpic Games, 30 Oct 2026 |
| November 5, 2026 | A$AP Rocky lands in the Item Shop | Confirmed | fortnite.comEpic Games, 30 Oct 2026 |
| November 7, 2026 | Captain's Day: Cursed Sprite variants | Announced | fortnite.comEpic Games, 30 Oct 2026 |
| December 5, 2026 | Chapter 7 finale event | Confirmed | fortnite.comEpic Games, 30 Oct 2026 |
| [Pending verification] | Last moment to activate the 2026 window (exact hour not published) | Expected | ign.comIGN guide, 2 Nov 2026 |
The chapter finale on December 5, 2026 is the practical outer edge for anything season-bound. The exact end of the season itself is [Pending verification], so if you are trying to work out how long you have to keep farming, that number is the one to check back for.
What happens to an unused token
Two different things can go unused, and they behave differently:
- An access you never activated. No source states explicitly what happens if the deadline passes without activation. The reasonable assumption is that the 2026 window is lost, but nothing we found confirms it, and acting on an assumption here is expensive.
- Days left inside an activated window. These simply expire. There is no partial refund and no rollover into the 2027 window. Your access ends when the fourteen days end, regardless of how much you claimed.
If you are unsure whether to activate, activating early is the safer mistake. Losing days inside a window costs you some cosmetics; missing the deadline entirely may cost you the whole reward.
Change log
Every schedule change gets a row here, dated. If a date on this page moves, it moves with an entry rather than silently.
| Date | Change |
|---|---|
| November 3, 2026 | Site opened. Dates recorded from the Epic announcement and from press and community reports, all unverified. |
| November 3, 2026 | The two December closing dates were replaced by a single activation cutoff timestamp. The 15 and 16 December reports are the same moment seen from different timezones, not two competing claims. |
